Al was born in Muenster to John and Theresia Busch Haverkamp in 1905. He married Mary Spaeth on June 1, 1927 in St. Peter's Church in Lindsay. They spent the biggest part of their lives together at the corner of Fifth and Oak Streets in Muenster.
Al is survived by his wife mary, daughters Florence Schumacher and Olivia Forgey of Gainesville, Dolores Wiesman of Tulsa, OK, Jeanette Wickliffe of Irving, Joyce Boydston of Muenster, sons Walter of Whitesboro, Robert of Cairo, Egypt, a sister, Sr. Anselma Haverkamp of Jonesboro,, Arkansas, and a brother Charlie Haverkamp of Gainesville; 39 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.
