Funeral services for Annie Lou Greene Arganbright, 80, of Tuttle, Oklahoma will be held at 11 am, Friday, March 27, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Tuttle.

Annie Lou Greene Arganbright was born Aug. 14, 1928 in Union, SC, to Carl B. and Panzy Goforth Greene and went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2009 in Oklahoma City. Annie was the ninth of 10 children.

Known most of her life as Ann, she grew up in Union. As a young woman, Ann had a passion for softball and was the pitcher for the Union girl's team in the old Carolina semi-professional league. She graduated from Union High School and attended cosmetology school. Ann worked as a Southwestern Bell Telephone operator in Union, as well as in the carding room of the old Union cotton mill in the process of making broadcloth.

Ann was first married at the age of 19 and was blessed with a son, Joseph Kendall. They moved to Oklahoma in 1954 and lived in Chickasha, where Ann worked for Liberty Drug. She married Jim Arganbright on July 14, 1964 and was a dear mother to her blended family of Joe, Kay, Kim, Kristie, and Karol. Jim and Ann moved from Chickasha to Tuttle in 1966 and purchased The Star Pharmacy where they faithfully served the community for 40 years. Ann was an avid fan of the Tuttle Tigers as well as the OU Sooners. Ann was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tuttle, the American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, the Republican Party, Grady County EMT Board and was a volunteer for the Hope Pregnancy Center.

Ann was the epitome of strength and service. Her life influenced all who knew her and left a lasting impression on those whose paths she crossed. She was a dear friend to so many and will be greatly missed. One of her life verses was Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Panzy Greene, stepmother Ollie Robinson Greene, brothers Carl B. Greene of Chickasha, Eugene Greene of Maryland and Thomas Greene of Union, SC, several older sisters and daughter Kay Franklin. Survivors include her husband Jim Arganbright of Tuttle, Reverend Joseph Arganbright of Oklahoma City, Joe Franklin of Tuttle, Dr. Kim Arganbright and wife Paula of Weatherford, Kristie Scears and husband Mike of Midwest City, Karol Andrew and husband Bill of Tulsa, sister Sara G. Sprouse of Union, SC, stepbrother Bill Robinson of Florida, sister-in-law Evelyn Greene of Chickasha, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and lifetime friend Claude Wilbur Gillett of Chickasha.

The family would like to thank Dr. Robin Germany who was her physician and beloved friend. They would also like to thank the many loving caregivers and friends at Manor Care Nursing Center in Midwest City. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Tuttle, 14 SW 2nd Street, Tuttle, OK 73089 or the Hope Pregnancy Center, 10327 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73120, 405-755-5433.
