Services for Virginia Gibson Bonner will be held today at 11 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dianna Deaton officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Bonner, 94, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, in her home. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was known for her sparkling personality who always encouraged those who knew her, especially to her husband whom she assisted in his ministry as pastor of Lost Gap/Suqualena, Spring Hill and Pleasant Hill United Methodist Churches and her step-children whom she helped raise.
Survivors include her husband of more than 56 years, the Rev. Everett Bonner; a son, Russell Wayne "Rusty" Bonner and his wife, Jessie, of Meridian; a daughter, Bonnie Bonner Porter and her husband, Gary, of Mobile, Ala.; grandchildren, Jim Porter and his wife, Lisa, John Porter and his wife, Beth, all of Mobile and David Bonner and his wife, Crissy, of Meridian; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church or to a charity of choice.
Pallbearers will be Jim Porter, David Bonner, John Porter, Billy Jenkins, Gary Porter, Larry Smith, Keith Smith and Jeff Smith.
Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
