Helen Sessions Guernsey of Yucaipa, born in Utah, had lived in Yucaipa for 30 years, died Thursday of heart failure at St. Bernardine's Medical Center in San Bernardino at the age of 82. She volunteered for Yucaipa Senior Citizens Services, who she served as an officer and a board member. She was survived by her two sons, Keith C. Flint of Elko, Nevada and Kenneth O. Flint of Redwood city, three daughters, Jetta Richards of Farmington, Utah, Shirly Thompson of Seattle and Erma Williams of Amarillo, Texas, her brother, LaMar Sessions of Syracuse, Utah, 16 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Service is set for 10 a.m. on Thursday at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel in Yucaipa with interment to follow at Montecito Memorial Park in Colton.

She later married Wallace Derlin Hammon of Utah, a second marriage for both with the loss of their spouses, on December 21, 1956 in Elko County, Nevada. She married one more time to Max Reuben Guernsey of Indiana with both having lost their previous spouses on January 12, 1989 in Potter County, Texas. She died in Yucaipa, California on January 1, 1998
