Cecil Lorimor, 83, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Scott County Hospital in Scott City.

He was born May 16, 1918, at Calvert, the son of Roy Earl and Amy Cecil (Bieber) Lorimor.

Mr. Lorimor had been a resident of Scott City since 1968, moving from Norton, and had worked at several jobs including as building inspector in Scott City for 10 years. He helped start Barber Sheet Metal where he worked with heating and air conditioning for many years.

He was a member of VFW Lodge No. 7773 and American Legion Post No. 183, both at Scott City. A veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, having served in the Navy, Air Force and Army, he was a master sergeant with many decorations.

On Oct. 15, 1945, he married Ritsuko Ito in Tokyo. She survives. He is also survived by three sons, James F. Lorimor, Dighton, Gary J. Lorimor, Norton, and John C. Lorimor, Rose Hill; two nephews, including Raymond Griswold of Scott City; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Janet L. Lorimor.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City, with the Rev. Lynne Smith officiating. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Norton Cemetery.

Visitation hours are until 8 tonight and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.
