Per the Book "Descendants of Jacob Hochstetler The Immigrant of 1736 by Rev. Harvey Hostetler, D.D. with Historical Introduction by William F. Hochstetler, Pub. Brethren Publishing House, Elgin, ILL 1912, pages 75, 710, 841, 900, 908, and 909.
The lineage for Simon Snider descends from: Jacob Hochstetler (1), his son Christian (2), Christian's daughter Anna Hostetler (3), who married Jonas Snider June of 1801. Their 10th child was Simon Snider of Midlothian, Ellis Co. Texas. Simon married #1) Eliza Bedford. She and their first child died in childbirth. Simon Snider married #2) Margarett Cooper. Simon had 6 children with Margarett. Their youngest son was James Lee Snider who married Dollie Dovie (Abbott). Dovie was daughter of William Thomas Abbott and Mary Elizabeth Wallen. William Thomas Abbott was the son of Capt. Abbott, of South Carolina, and Sarah C. Cleveland. Captain Abbott served during the Civil War under Gen. Lee. See Abbott Fam. History. Simon Peter Snider was the father of Simon Peter Snider Jr and James Lee Snider. James Lee Snider had a son Simon Phillip Snider born in 1900. Simon Phillip Snider was tired of all the S.P. Sniders so named his son Simon Austin Snider.(Named for his Doctor). Simon Austin Snider married but had no children.
