Blanche Stanly Sneeden (86), of Wilmington, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 13. She was preceded in her death by her mother and father, Frances and Dr. Jasper Stanly, her husband, Russell, three sisters Abbie Williams and Frances Burris of Wilmington, Lucy Abernathy of Yacolt, Washington, and one brother, Jack Stanly, of Raleigh. Blanche is survived by four sons, Russell Sneeden, Jr. and wife Gail of Atkinson, Stan Sneeden and wife Mary of Wilmington, Frank Sneeden of Myrtle Beach, and James Sneeden and wife Amy of Hazel, South Dakota. Blanche was blessed with 24 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was a life long member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church and enjoyed traveling, attending church meetings, and visiting with friends and family.
She was a registered nurse for many years in Wilmington while raising her family. Our mom was a wonderful loving mother who remained steadfast in her faith and dedication to her family. She was always making sure that everyone was well taken care of at church and at home.
Over the last few years, wherever she resided, everyone would always say, "You have the sweetest mother!"
As she lived, she also passed away sweetly and peacefully.
The family will receive friends at Andrew Funeral Home Market Street Chapel on Friday, February 15, 2008 from 7 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 16, at 11:00 a.m., at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church at 3801 Hwy North 132. Interment will follow the service in Oakdale Cemetery.
