Known to family and friends as Katie. She shares a headstone with her husband, Myron.

Her obituary was published in the November 3, 1977 issue of the Almena Plaindealer, Almena, Norton County, Kansas as follows:

"Catherine A. Lashbrook

Funeral services for Catherine A. Lashbrook, 96, formerly of Almena, who died October 27, 1977 at the Senior Citizen's Home in Oxford, Nebr. Were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 1977 at the United Methodist Church in Almena. Rev. Richard Krenz officiated at the service. Maxine Sebelius was the organist and accompanied Richard Krenz who sang Beautiful Isle of Somewhere and Whispering Hope. The casket bearers were DeWayne Bantam, Melvin Cummings, Alfred Luther, Cloyd Combs, Art Kolste and K. L. Wilson. Concluding service and interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Almena, with Enfield-Eckhart Funeral Home, Norton, in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lashbrook, widow of the late Myron A. Lashbrook who died in 1940, had been a resident of the Oxford Home since January 1966. She leaves a son, Ralph R. Lashbrook of Manhattan; a grandson, Richard Lashbrook of Manhattan; a granddaughter, Mrs. Jack D. Davis of Overland Park; and four great grandchildren, Julie and Laura Davis of Overland Park and Lisa and Ricky Lashbrook of Manhattan; Helen Dunkhas, a niece, of Oxford, Nebr., other nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lashbrook was born October 8, 1881, in New York City, to German immigrant parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Rosenbrook. When she was six the family moved to a farm near Stamford, Nebr., where she was reared. In 1901 she was married to Myron A. Lashbrook. The couple lived on a farm near Stamford until 1907 when the moved to a farm northeast of Almena where they lived until 1938 when they moved to Almena. Following Mr. Lashbrook's death in 1940 Mrs. Lashbrook continued to live in Almena until she moved to Oxford in 1966. While living in Nebraska she was a member of and active in the Lutheran church in Stamford. In Almena she was an active member of the United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Lashbrook, who was best known to her friends as "Katie" Lashbrook, was an avid gardener, who spent much of her time with her flowers and plants."
