Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, R. DeWitt, Nebraska.

Albert F. Brinkmeyer, 92 years of age, of R. DeWitt, NE. passed away at the Beatrice Community Hospital Friday night, August 9, 2002. He was born on October 25, 1909 on a farm near DeWitt and had lived on the same farm his entire life. He married Elsie L. Siems on August 17, 1933 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, R. DeWitt, NE. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, R. DeWitt, NE. and was a charter member of the Men and Missions, past member of the church council, Sunday School Superintendent, and served on the building committee when the present church was built. He was now serving as the chairman of the St. Paul's Cemetery Association. He was a past board member of the former Lutheran Hospital, Gage County Hospital Foundation, Hoag COOP Elevator, and the Mt. Hope School District #41 for over 20 years. He operated the Grant Township road maintainer for 25 years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed tractor pulls, car races and big band music.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie L.; son Wayne Brinkmeyer and his wife Marilee of R. DeWitt, NE.; daughters Glennys Hieronymus of Beatrice, and Cheryl Giles of Dumfries, Virginia; sons in law Harlan Schroeder of R. DeWitt, NE. and Norman Stokebrand of DeWitt, NE.; 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; sisters in law Laura Germer of Wilber, and Dorothy Huls and her husband Ralph of R. Cortland, NE.; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William F. and Lena (Albert) Brinkmeyer; daughters Phyllis Schroeder and Virginia Stokebrand; son in law John Hieronymus; brother Henry Brinkmeyer; sisters Liza Muller, Anna Hagemeier, Ida Schmale, and Ellen Siems; and an infant brother William Brinkmeyer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2002 in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, R. DeWitt, NE. with Reverend Neal Mather officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, R. DeWitt, NE. The body will lie in state from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday and from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Monday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice and at the church one hour preceding the service. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 am Tuesday at the church. A memorial has been established to the St. Paul's Cemetery Association with DeVern Pohlmann and Melvin Miller in charge. The Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice is in charge of the services.
