Record of Service of Michigan Volunteers 1861-65

However, the Civil War pension record for this Lyman Aldrich shows that his wife, Mary M., received a widow's pension in December of 1928. He had served in Co. A of the 23 Michigan Infantry, according to the record.

Not sure which Michigan Infantry he served in or both.

Mark Webster Aldrich signed his W. W. I draft registration in Franklin County, Kansas. He listed Florence M. Aldrich as his wife. Family trees and her son's California Death Index listing show her maiden name to be Williams.

Mark & Florence Aldrich are listed together on the 1915 and 1920 census reports in Ottawa. Their son Norman Fred, is listed as an infant on the same 1920 page, but several lines below their names.

Mark W. Aldrich is listed with his elderly mother, his sister, and his son on the 1930 census in Ottawa. After the mother's death, they moved to Los Angeles County, California, where they were listed in 1940.

Mark Webster Aldrich died 26 March 1956 in Los Angeles County, CA. His birth date on the California Death Index matches the birth date on the World War I draft registration from Franklin County, Kansas. His grave has also been entered on Findagrave and linked to his parents. ------Most of the census reports show his birth as Michigan, where the family was listed in 1880 in Kent County. The 1915 census shows Kansas as his birth state in error. Also, he may have been the Mark Aldrich who was listed in Wichita in 1900, since he does not seem to be listed in Ottawa in 1900. ---------Mark A. may have been an infant son. It is hard to know when there are no dates in the old record. I don't believe that Mark A. was born in Michigan in 1878. Only one Mark Aldrich born about that time appears in Ottawa census reports ---- and that was Mark W. ---
