She married Thomas Willing Peters of Philadelphia on March 16, 1881. They settled in Wyoming where he was a rancher. In 1898, her husband received a consular appointment in Plauen, Saxony Germany and they moved abroad. She died at the Consulate. He later became Consul General to Germany from 1907 to 1913. They had a son and a daughter. He remarried in 1901 and died in 1917.
