John Caulk of Sorento is Dead: Funeral Friday

John Caulk of Sorento died at 1:10 a.m. this morning at an Alton hospital following an illness of six months duration. He was 79 years, four months and 28
days of age at the time of his death.
The deceased was born in Shoal Creek Township, September 13, 1869, a son of
the late Abraham F. Caulk and Hannah J. (Moss) Caulk. He lived all his life in
or near Bond County. He was first married to Miss Osa Clark in 1892. The
following children born to this union survive: William Caulk of Peoria, George
Caulk and Wayne Caulk, Maud Caulk, Mable McCracken of Peoria and Cleta. He
remarried in 1933. His second wife, Mrs. Minnie L. (Blevins) Caulk survives as
do the following brothers and sister; Elbert H. Caulk, Arthur C. Caulk and Mrs.
Ida E. McKean, all of Sorento and Thomas S. Caulk of Greenville.
The body was removed to the Gordon and Foran Funeral Home in Sorento. Funeral
services will be conducted from the Gordon and Foran Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday.
Interment will be made in Sunnyside Cemetery.
