s/o Charles Seeley Casterline & Harriet E. Lyon, Married Ellen Strauss(Strause) August 30th, 1864 in Fayette, Seneca Co., NY by Rev. M.J.Stover. He was a Corporal in Company D of the 148th Regiment of New York Vol. Lost Lt hand in the Battle of Cold Harbor. Became Telegraph operator in Waterloo, NY. He was in charge of the first telephone switch board in Waterloo & one of the first resident to have a telephone in their home. His daughter Hattie married Charles (Wonderbread) Corby.
