Born June 17, 1954, in Charleston, she was a daughter of George B. "Corky" Hissom of Charleston and the late Joan B. Hissom.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her stepmother, Lois Hissom of Charleston; and her sister, Connie (Gene) Mingus of Windsor, Ohio. Pat leaves behind her friend and companion of 14 years, Ron Carr; his parents, Elwood and Rosalie Carr; and Ron's three brothers and one sister, Tom (Terry) Car, John (Janenne) Carr, Scott Carr and Lisa (Mike) Corbitt. Also surviving are a niece, Stephanie (Joel) Rosie of Windsor, Ohio; nephew, Spec. Matthew Mingus, currently serving in Iraq; and several other nieces and nephews.
Pat graduated from Sissonville Highs School in 1972 and from West Virginia University in 1978. She was employed for 25 years at Blackwater Falls State Park as a recreational director and naturalist. She attended Davis United Methodist Church.
At the request of the deceased, her remains were cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, at Davis United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Tucker County Animal Shelter, 215 First St., Parsons, WV 26287.
