George W. Tison is listed on the Confederate Graves Registry as ID # 137379, buried in this cemetery. They quote his Confederate Service Record from Fold3 and " Roster of Confederate Soldiers, Georgia", saying he served from 1862-65 as a private in Co. B of the 46th GA Infantry. They note he has NO MILITARY UNIT MARKER UPON HIS GRAVE.

His parents were George W Tison and Sally Cherry Tison. They were on the 1850 North Carolina Pitt Co census Falkland Dist, page 19. There marriage bond North Carolina Record # 03 033 Image 1480 Edgecobe Co.

On the 1850 census it shows his parents George W Tison age 44, Sarah age 36, Thomas M age 11, Nancy Tison age 9, George W. Tison age 3, Andrew I Tison age age 3 (George W and Andrew were twins) John O. Tison age 1. Tempy Everett age 40 also in the household, relationship unknown.
