Raymond Rogers August 29, 1918 - August 15, 2008
A memorial service will be Sunday for Cimarron Valley native Raymond M. Rodgers. He died Aug. 15 in Gold Beach, Ore. He was 89.
The service will be at 2 p.m. in the Church of the First Born in Chandler.
Raymond was buried next to his second wife, Dorothy, in Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.
He was born Aug. 29, 1918 in Ripley.
He was engineer for Lincoln County for many years and a farmer and cattle rancher in the Cushing and Chandler areas.
He recently moved into Nesika House Gold Beach, Ore., the home of his son. He enjoyed the Pacific Ocean, eating well and being safely cared for.
He is survived by a daughter, Sheila Wheat of Jenks; a son, Robert R. Rodgers and his wife Andrea Lynn-Rogers of Gold Beach, Ore.; a sister, Vuanita Smith of Cushing; four stepchildren, Don Hurst and Sharon Brixey of Mustang, Myrna Bean of Chandler and Jack Hurst of Las Vegas, Nev.; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death this year by two daughters, Sue Tinney of Duncan and Dorothy LeMieux of Wagoner. Two brothers, Vernon C. Rodgers and John M. Rodgers, also preceded him in death.
