Betty E. Ferguson Austin, 56, of Thicket, died Monday, November 20, 2006 in Cleveland. She was born March 17, 1950 in Liberty, Texas to parents Linnie Ferguson and A.V. Gore. She had been a long time resident of Hardin before moving to Thicket six years ago. Mrs. Austin enjoyed shopping, quilting, doing crafts, and cooking for her family. She most of all loved her grandchildren and family.

Services for Mrs. Austin will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phil Love and Rev. Jim Simpkins officiating. Interment will follow at Moss Hill Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Austin will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father: Linnie Ferguson, mother: A. V. Gore Briscoe, stepfather: Keller Briscoe, brother: Lonnie Ferguson, nephews: Donnie and Kenny Ferguson.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years: Robert Austin, Sr. of Thicket, Daughters: Lisa Nugent and husband Gerald of Hardin, Cynthia Cook and husband Danny of Hardin, Sons: Dickie Austin and wife Tina of Thicket, Robert Austin, Jr. of Thicket, and William Harvey Austin and Tiffany Hanks of Batson, Sisters: Virginia Jasper and Wanda Davis, Brothers: Linnie Ferguson and wife Shirley, Donnie Ferguson and wife Verline, Roy Ferguson, Avie Lee Ownby and wife Melissa, and Jerry Wayne Ferguson; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
