Mr. Avery Gallup 46, was born 28 Feb 1847 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio. He was the son of Jabesh or Jabez Gallup (1794-1879), and Louisa Avery. Avery and his wife Charlotte (nee) Pierce Gallup, together were perhaps one of the first and largest Real Estate Developer's, Horticulturalist's, and Merchant's of the Denver and Littleton, Colorado area's. They developed and sold hundreds of acres of land, subdividing it into smaller parcels. They also developed and planted many greenhouses, nurseries, vineyards, and orchards containing many thousand fruit trees, and various types flora. They also began a pickling business venture for the harvest of vast amounts of fruit and vegetables from their operations. Three sons died as infants were; Elwood age 1, Edmond age 12, and Avery T. Gallup age 9. Two sons lived to adults were; Rockwell or "Rocky" and Perry Gallup. Avery died January 4, 1894 in Denver, Denver, Colorado.
