Sonia Jean Ott was born on July 29, 1981 in Iowa City, IA a daughter of Willis C and Sheila Jean Ballard Severt. She attended English Valleys High School in North English where she enjoyed playing softball. On July 8, 1999 she married Ryan Ott in Solon, IA. She lived in the Williamsburg area until moving to South Amana .Sonia worked a short time for Aramark Food Service in Amana. She loved to fish and was known for her infectious giggle. Sonia was killed in an automobile accident near Marengo, IA on Friday, April 5, 2002. She lived 20 yrears, 8 months and 7 days.
She is survived by her parents Willis and Sheila Severt of North English, three children Sloan, Sierra, and Cody; grandparents: Jessie & John Finch of North English and Betty & Rex Severt of Washington. Also surviving is a special friend Shaun Dietze of South Amana. Sonia was preceded in death by her grandfather Kenneth Ballard.
