He was a sergeant with the Balloon Corp, part of the Army Signal Corp, during World War I.
After the war, he studied to be an optometrist and practiced optometry in Torrance, Calif., until he retired in 1959.
In 1928 he married the former Ruth MacKenzie in Torrance.
He was a Past Master of the Torrance Free & Accepted Msons Lodge 447; and was active in Boy Scout organization.
Survivors include the widow, Ruth, of Klamath Falls; son Lyle W. Ingold, Weed, Calif.; sisters, Irene Smith, Torrance and Amelia Holland, Claremont, Calif.; and a grandson, Stephen L. Ingold, of Weed.
