Theodore Czirr Dead
Theodore Czirr, a resident of this vicinity for many years, passed away at his home Saturday evening, March 21st. For the past two years, Mr. Czirr suffered with dropsy and last November fell and broke his right arm, since which time he has been in failing health; about five weeks ago he became bedfast and seemed on the road to recovery until Saturday morning when he commenced to have severe pains in his right chest, medical skill could not relieve his suffering, and at 6 o'clock death came.

Mr. Czirr was born in Carnofske, de Leba, Pomerania, Germany, March 29, 1857, where he grew to manhood and learned the stone mason trade. He was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Charbrow, March 26th, 1871, and in 1880 came to America and settled on what is now known as the Czirr homestead between McFarland and Alma, remaining there until six years ago.

He was married to Mathilda Simonis of Wamego, October 6th, 1894; she passed away in 1912. On July 12th, 1915, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Katie Cutright, who survives him. He also leaves two brothers, August Czirr, McFarland, and John Czirr,Alma; two sisters, Mrs. Adelina Maike, and Mrs. Emelia Hachhaus, both of Alma; three step-sons, Phillip Foltz, Conova, W.V.; Roy Cutright, Hay Springs, Nebraska; and Fred Cutright, Alma; a step-daughter, Mrs. O.J. Stitt, Phoexix, Arizona.

Mr. Czirr was a devout member of the Lutheran church, an upright, honorable gentleman, ever ready to say a kind word or help a friend. His greatest delight in his declining years was to read his Bible and sing the songs of his faith.
Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church, Alma, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. C.F. Lehenbauer.

Pallbearers were Arthur Schmitt, Carl Zeckser, Henry Diepenbrock, Herman Senne, Herman Diepenbrock and Wm. Terrass.
Interment in Wamego cemetery where he was laid to rest beside his first wife.
