Clarence Joseph Irsik, 85, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.

He was born April 1, 1923, in Shulte, to Lawrence William and Philomena Peschka Irsik.

A lifetime stockman and farmer in Ingalls, Mr. Irsik was a co-founder of Irsik and Doll Group, a former school board member, and a member of the Holy Name Society and St. Stanislaus Church of Ingalls. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On Nov. 16, 1950, he married Delores Ann Lutz in Spearville. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Clarence "Butch" Irsik Jr. and Bradley Irsik, both of Ingalls; five daughters, Clarice Nelson of Garden City, Joyce Ogrin of Westminster, Colo., Marsha Downey of Ingalls, and Lisa Hayes and Linda Sorem, both of Jetmore; a brother, Larry Irsik of Wichita; four sisters, Helen Gerber and Jude Shriwise, both of Dodge City, Wilma Pat Goebel of Jetmore, and Mary Lorraine Gibbons of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Madonna Addison; two brothers, Norbert and Stephen Irsik; and a sister, Elsie Vogel.

Vigil service was at St. Stanislaus Church, Ingalls. Funeral Mass was at the church. Burial was in Greencrest Memorial Gardens, Dodge City, with military rites conducted by Howard Gotschall Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1714.
