Bettie L. Wallen, 80, of Hoopeston, died at 9:37 a.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009, at home.

She was born July 16, 1928, in Rossville, a daughter of Alvis and Blanche Ingram Wallen. She is survived by a sister, Clara (Jim) Brawner of Crawfordsville, Ind.; a brother, Henry (Pat) Wallen of Avon, Ind.; three nieces, including Linda (Bill) Greenwood of Hoopeston, and three nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Krebs and Lula Alkire.

Bettie was retired from Dave's Electronic Service in Hoopeston. She graduated from Ambia, Ind., High School. She enjoyed reading, watching sports on television and was an avid Cubs Fan.
