Services for John W. Swanger, steamfitter, who died at 12:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at John Gaston Hospital, will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Cosmopolitan Funeral Home by the Rev. Lawrence C. Riley. Burial will be in Memorial Park. He was 60. Mr. Swanger died of a heart ailment and pneumonia following a five-day illness. He lived at 1498 Maplewood. A native of Iowa, he had been here for 25 years. Recently he had been a watchman for the Federal Barge Lines. He leaves his mother, Mrs. S.E. Bogue, three daughters, Mrs. E.C. Burrow, Mrs. Leonard Berry and Mrs. James Carpenter all of Memphis; four sons, A.J. Swanger of the Coast Guard Artillery, Hawaiian Islands, C.L., J.H. and Joe Waymon Swanger all of Memphis.
