Charles William Randolf Bishop was the s/o William Randolf Bishop and Harriet Jane Elliot. Both parents from England, his father worked for the Michigan Table Factory in St. Johns. Charles followed in his fathers footsteps and he was a Master carpenter and cabinet maker also. He married Grace Catherine Rork in Jan 7, 1914 in Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI, Charles and Grace had two children; Francis Charles and Charlotte Mary. They traveled down to New Mexico where Graces sister and brother in law lived. Francis James his young brother came to live for awhile and they patrolled the Mexico Boarder during Pancho Villa's Reign, from New Mexico to Ajo, AZ. Charles talks of driving the old slat board road going across the desert and the spokes in his wheels on the car breaking and he would have to stop and make new spokes, the tires were solid rubber then. His wife Grace was a hunter and had dried skins while they live in the Mountains above New Mexico and they took them into California. The two of them were very resourceful and moved for a while to San Francisco then back to the Los Angles Area. Their first home was in the Brentwood Heights area. Charles had Chas. Bishop Cabinet Shop on 2nd Street in Santa Monica,CA The Cabinet Shop was there 1920's through the 1950's. Charles and Grace divorced and he remarried Lenora Potter no children, they are both laid to rest in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica in the same plot.
