ALLEN FUNERAL WILL BE SUNDAY

Thomas Benton Allen, age 81 years, passed away at his home on Claremore street, Friday afternoon at 3:40 o'clock after a long illness. He is survived by a daughter, Miss Kate Allen, and three sons, James B. and Glenn P. Allen of this city, and Hugh Clay Allen, of Tulsa. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.

Thomas Benton Allen was born in Green county, Ill., Sept. 11, 1843. For a number of years he lived in his native state and in Indiana. He was married January 6, 1870, to Miss Anna B. Doughty, who survives him.

Following his removal from Illinois Mr. Allen went to Arkansas, where he lived with his family for 30 years. He also lived in other parts of the south, coming to this city about two years ago where he has since resided. He was a member of the Northern Army during the Civil War, enlisting at an early age in Company E. 144th Illinois volunteer infantry.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home at 16th and Claremore.

Aged Man Had Been Resident of City for Past Year

Thomas Benton Allen, age 81, died at his home, 1601 Claremore, in this city Friday afternoon at 3:40 o'clock of old age. He had been sick for a number of months. He was the father of Miss Kate Allen, teacher at the Indian Village school, and of James B. "Lefty" Allen and Glenn P. Allen, of this city. Funeral arrangements have not been made but interment will be either in this city or in Bartlesville.

Thomas Benton Allen was born in Indiana, Sept. 11, 1843. For a number of years he lived in his native state and in Illinois. He was married January 6, 1870, to Miss Anna M. Doughty, who survives him. To this union, five children were born, four of whom surivive him. In addition to those noted above, a son, Henry Clay Allen is a resident of Tulsa. A sister of Mr. Allen, Mrs. James M. Cox, lives in Bellingham, Wash. A son of Mr. Allen George Allen, familiarly known as "Tine" Allen, died in Tulsa about a year ago. Following his removal from Illinois Mr. Allen went to Arkansas where lived with his family for 32 years. He also lived in other parts of the south, moving to this city about a year ago where he has since resided. He was a member of the Northern Army during the Civil War, enlisting at an early age in Company E, 144th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. In addition to the members of the family surviving him, Mr. Allen also has twelve grandchildren, seven boys and five girls. The sympathy of the community is extended to the family in their time of bereavement.
