About 11:00 Friday night June 5 1903, Mrs Sophia Nartley died at her home in Hams Prairie. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Chapman at the Hams Prairie M.E.Church Sunday afternoon. Mrs Bartley was a daughter of the late Milton Bennett of Holts Summit and was born Dec 23 1846. Feb 17, 1869, she was married to A.J.Bartley, who with four children are left to mourn the loss of a faithful wife and mother. For nearly 30 years she has been a member of the M.E. Church and at all times she has been a faithful wife and tender mother.
