Martha's parentage has finally been discovered. Her parents were Iley S Walker and Martha Allman. There were 9 children born between 1844 and 1869. However it is known that Martha age 8 and her sister Parilee age 1, were living with Reverand Arthur Connor #88427610 in Current River, Randolph County, Arkansas in the 1870 census. The Connors took in these children and others, raising them as their own. Martha and William H Starling, who was orphaned at an early age, were married on March 28, 1881 in Ripley County, Missouri. Her marriage certificate and age at 1870 leads me to believe that her year of birth is 1862-3, rather than 1860 as listed on her gravestone.
They made their home in Davidson Twp, Randolph County, Arkansas, where William had many Starling kin. Together they had 7 children, all listed on this memorial. Upon the death of William, Martha, known as Aunt Matt, then married Andrew Jack Starling, son of Samuel Edward Starling the brother of his father William Bradley Starling, and cousin to William Henry.

Martha's funeral records at McNabb funeral home indicate she was born in Corning, Clay County.
Martha's sister Pairlee #111608457 married James Wheetley on July 10, 1887 in Clay County, Arkansas. This marriage was performed by the Same Rev Arthur Connor who raised her.
Bothe Martha and her sister named their sons after Arthur.
