SPRINGFIELD - AJ Burk Ryon, 85, of Springfield, formerly of Montgomery City, Mo., died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at Heritage Manor.
He was born May 8, 1915, in Bucado, Mo., the son of Edward Burk and Elsie Rose Watson Ryon. He married Evelyn M. Dickey in 1969.
Mr. Ryon retired from the U.S. Navy after serving from 1945 to 1968 as a machinist and was a member of the U.S. Navy Fleet Reserve. He also retired from Carter Carburetor in St. Louis, where he had been employed for 10 years.
Survivors: wife, Evelyn; a daughter, . . . ; three sons, . . . ; two stepsons, . . . ; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris (husband, Allen) Dickey of Montgomery City, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 7 p.m. today, Staab Funeral Home, the Rev. Clint Cook officiating.
Chapel services: 1 p.m. Friday, Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis.
