Gilbert E. Bruell, 77, of Morton died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
He was born Jan. 14, 1932, in Morton to Carl and Lucy (Bauman) Bruell.
Surviving are one sister, Elizabeth Kimble of Peoria; and one brother, Clarence (Sharon) Bruell of Sparland.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clyde Bruell in 1994.
He was a Korean War Navy veteran.
Gilbert first taught in the Hopedale School District. He later was a principal with the Tremont School District and last taught accounting at Morton High School until his retirement.
Burial will be in the Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
