ESKRIDGE -- Thomas Leroy Conlin, 86, formerly of the Chalk Mound area, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at a Topeka nursing home.

Mr. Conlin was a self-employed farmer and stockman. He also worked for the Rock Creek Township during the 1930s.

He was born Oct. 27, 1912, at Chalk Mound, the son of Thomas and Rosa May Crawford Conlin. He attended school in Chalk Mound and was a lifelong Chalk Mound resident.

He married Helen E. Spear on Oct. 30, 1943, at Lawrence. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Marguerite Lietz, Eskridge; a son, Thomas E. Conlin, Americus; a sister, Leah R. White, Allen; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church at Eskridge.

Burial will be at Eskridge Cemetery.

Relatives and friends will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Crable Funeral Chapel in Eskridge.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wabaunsee County Home Health Care or to the Eskridge EMT Association and sent in care of the funeral home.
