Abraham was the son of Abraham 1734-1805 and Jedidiah Tyler.
In September, 1784 Abraham was married to Hannah Stevens. They were the parents of Timothy, Abraham 1787-1876, Hannah 1789 Haddam-, Thomas abt 1790 in Richmond-, Jedidah 1791-1888, James S. 1793-1869, and Noah abt 1799-1883.

Sea-Captain Abraham was born at Haddam, Ct. 24 Sept. 1762, Will dated 1804; died of smallpox in Richmond Vt., mar. Sept 1784 Hannah Stephens who took the smallpox from him and died leaving their small children to be raised by their uncle Uzziel Stephens. Abraham and Hannah were buried at Essex Centre Vt. He was in the Revolution and tradition says that he was at Valley Forge with him father and went with him on foot to Ct. to ask for supplies for the army from Gov. Trunball. At one time he was held in captivity by the Algerian pirates and escaped with a companion by scaling a wall set with glass spikes, and received wounds, the scars of which he always bore.
