Ima V. Rountree, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, March 20, 2009, surrounded by loving family and friends at her daughter's home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, March 23, at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thresa Lawson, the Rev. James C. Boling and the Rev. Wes Covey officiating. Burial will follow at the Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the funeral home.

Ima was born in Mound, Texas, to the late W.W. "Will" and Elizabeth Shirley Hodge. She attended school at Mound, and had lived in Coryell County all of her life. She was a member of Gatesville Revival Center. On Feb. 3, 1934, she married J.C. Van and to that union was born one daughter, Joyce. In 1979, she married T. D. "Ted" Rountree and he brought to her life a step-daughter, Doris. She will be remembered as a great wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, a classy lady and true friend to all who knew her. She was a wonderful Christian lady who was heavily involved in church work, and most of all, she was a strong prayer warrior. She had a brilliant mind and memory and the Lord blessed her to have that sharp mind until her passing. She had a wonderful blessed life and was a blessing to others.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; brothers Elmer, Walter and Cecil Hodge; and sisters, Irene Farrar, Alberta Gaston and Veda Turpin.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Boling and husband, the Rev. James C. Boling; step-daughter, Doris Williams, of San Marcos; grandsons, Vance Lawson and wife, Thresa, of Brentwood, Tenn., and Jimmy Boling, of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Melisha and husband, Greg, Daniel and wife, Stacey, Joseph and wife, Bethany and Joshua and wife, Jenny; great-great grandchildren, Vance and Aubrielle; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
