90- Year-Old Native Of Ava, Isaac Brown Dies Yesterday Isaac Sherman Brown, 90-year-old native of Ava and retired merchant, died at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at his home here after an illness of four days. Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Floyd Hitchcock of Springfield and Tom Johnson of Ava, and burial will be in the Fannon cemetery. Born at Ava, on Dec. 17, 1879, Mr. Brown was the son of Jessie and Mary Burton Brown. He was married Nov. 30, 1900, at Squires, to Margaret Manning, who survives. Mr. Brown at one operated the Springcreek Store south of Ava. He was a member of the Holiness Church. Survivors besides his wife, include eight children, John, Everett and Clarence, all of Ava, Mrs. Lulu Hicks, Wasola, Mrs. Velma Casy, Chicago, Louis Brown, Rochelle, Ill., Mrs. Veda Garland, Springfield, and Mrs. Naida Hartley, Ava. One son, Glen, died in 1945.
