Funeral services were held Monday for Wagoner businessman and civic leader, Frank Allison, Jr., of Wagoner. Allison owned Frank's Plumbing from 1958 to 1979 and Frank's Gun and Pawn from 1979 until his retirement in 1991.
A longtime Wagoner resident, he was an active member of the First Baptist Church. He was a past member of the Wagoner City Council and a charter member of the Wagoner Lake Festival and the Wagoner Shotgun Club. During World War II he served in the U. S. Army.
Allison loved fishing, traveling with his wife, Joyce and spending time with his grandchildren. Born July 15, 1926, in Tulsa to M. F. and Lona Allison, Frank died Friday, January 7, 1994, at his home.
Services were held January 10, 1994, at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner, with the Rev. Wayne Naugher officiating. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce; three sons, David Allison of Long Beach, California, Rick Allison, and his wife, Sharon, And Gary Allison, all of Wagoner; an adopted daughter, Kelly Clark of Florida. His mother, Lona Allison of Wagoner; a brother, the Rev. George Allison of Alabama; a sister, Geraldine Bale of Wagoner, nine grandchildren, Angie, Brent, Justin, Julie, Cody, Cory, Casey, Christopher, and Aaron; one great grandchild, Lani; an aunt, Mae Lafarlette; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, M. F. Allison, Sr., in 1979. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Mallett Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Roy Spriggs, Jesse Taylor, John Simmons, Jim Self, Bob Vanbrunt and Wayne Harris. Honorary pallbearers were Norvin Childress, Robert Hill, Andy Spriggs, John McGlaughlin, Ray Yochum, Jim Scroggins, David Williams, Leon Blair, Bob Falling and Jay Henderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Wagoner Building Fund or the First Baptist Church of Okay Building Fund.
