"Rites Slated For Man Killed In 5-Story Fall ---

Funeral services for Homer Earl Harris, 42, of 510 Cantey, fatally injured Thursday in a five-story fall, who died at Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Shannon Memorial chapel. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.

Justice of the Peace W.E. (Bill) Richburg, of Dallas, was investigating the death of Mr. Harris who was admitted to the hospital earlier this week. Dr. W.H. Buckholts, hospital director, who said Mr. Harris had been a patient at the hospital on three other occasions, reported another patient saw Mr. Harris as he disappeared from the window sill of his fifth-story room. The patient contacted hospital officials. The hospital director said Mr. Harris had been in hospital-required restraints since his admission Tuesday, and he apparently freed himself.

Mr. Harris, a lifelong resident of Tarrant County, had been an aircraft company employee before his sight weakened three years ago. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and he was a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church,

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer C. Harris, of Fort Worth; two sisters, including Mrs. Harold Smith, of Fort Worth; and two brothers, include Everett Cleo Harris, of Fort Worth."
