Her full name was Martha Dandridge (Chapman) Spurlock Allison. She was first married to Allen Jackson Spurlock before 1861; later married Henry Leonardus Allison,Jr. in about 1866.

She was born in Marion County, GA and died in Ashley County, AR and was the daughter of Ambrose Chapman and Elizabeth Sarah (Griggs) Chapman.
