He graduated from Cleary Business College in Ypsilanti. He taught at Housel, Wilson, Hawley, Hubbard and Williams School. He was also Deputy Sheriff. He held several township and city offices. He was appointed City Marshall for the city of Mason. They are buried in the Hawley Cemetery, Mason, MI
