Thomas Edward 'Ed' Simpson passed away April 22, 1991, at his residence in Norfork. He was 94.
Mr. Simpson was born Feb 18, 1897, at Zanoni, Missouri. He was a member of the Norfork Church of Christ, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, and Brotherhood of Maintenance and Way.
Mr. Simpson worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad for 44 years before his retirement in 1962. He served in the Army in World War I. He saw duty in England and France.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Small Simpson, a daughter of June Simpson, who was killed in a car accident in 1955; his parents, James Andrew and Mary E. Newton Simpson, four sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by four sons, Andrew Simpson, O. C. Simpson and Bob Simpson of Norfork and Earl Simpson of St. Louis, MO; five daughters, Vivian Storch of St. Louis, MO, Dorothy Allgaier of Aberdeen, WA, Imogene Stephens of Othello, WA, Louise Boyd of Bergman, AR, and Hattie Wilson of Jacksonville, AR; two sisters, Oma Vogt of Brentwood, MO and Ellen Lackey of Mtn. Home, AR. one sister-in-law, Anna Climer of Norfork; 27 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Services were held at the Norfork Church of Christ with Bro. Don Pfalser officiating. Burial was in the Norfork Cemetery with Military Graveside Services by the North Central Arkansas Veterans Council VFW Post 3246 and his grandson, Major Dennis Boyd of the US Marine Corp presenting the colors.
Pallbearers were: Jack Hughes, Melvin Small, E. J. Weatherford, Steve Smith, Don Harvey and Alvin Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons.
