Marian Margaret Chavanu, the oldest of the eight children born to Henry Chavanu and Clara Bender, was born on October 11, 1925, at Albion, Nebraska. She grew up on the family farm near Petersburg, Nebraska, and received her education in St. John the Baptist Parish School there, except for the first two grades, for these, she attended a country school at Newman Grove, NE, while staying with her maternal grandparents.
Upon graduation in 1943, she moved to Omaha, NE, where she began work at the Farmer's National Company on September 16, 1944, as a receptionist. She has continued to work for this same firm since that time, moving up through the ranks, and is now the Corporate Secretary and a stockholder of the company.

Funeral services for Marian M Chavanu, a retired executive secretary, will be Tuesday morning at St John Catholic Church in Petersburg, Neb Ms Chavanu died Wednesday at her Omaha, NE. home of natural causes. She was 67. Ms. Chavanu was born in Petersburg NE., and came to Omaha in 1942, said her sister LaDonna Kaukber. She worked for Farmers National Co, an Omaha farm management firm, for 40 years before retiring in 1990, Mrs Kaukber , said In 1984, Ms. Chavanu was elected president of the Aksarben Chapter of Professional Secretaries. Other survivors include her mother, Clara Chavanu of Omaha sisters, Willa Borer of Petersburg, NE. Verlene Heithoff of Red lake, Ontario Canada and brothers Elvin Chavanu of Columbus, NE and Marvim Chavanu of Omaha
