Samuel Hardy Brown
Dies at Norfork

Samuel Hardy Brown, aged 90, a resident of Norfork, died Friday morning at his home. Funeral services were conducted by Doyle Davenport at the Norfork Church of Christ Sunday afternoon.

Interment was in the Norfork cemetery, with Roller funeral home in charge of arrangements. Masonic services were held at graveside.

Mr. Brown, a retired railroader, was born January 1, 1869, at Dyersburg, Tenn, the son of the late Leon D. Brown and Mary Thedford Brown.

A widower, he was a member of the Church of Christ and a Mason. Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Mable Martin of Norfork, Mrs. Gladys Arnold, Los Angeles, Calif., Miss Opal Brown, Wenatchee, Wash., Mrs. Beulah Roberts and Mrs. Fleeda Park, both of Springfield, Mo., Mrs. Joyce McIntosh, Whitney, Tex. and Mrs. Fern Gillihan of Placerville, Calif.; a son, George Brown, Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandsons; a granddaughter, Mrs. Jorayne Hackler of Mountain Home; a great grandson and nine great-granddaughters.
