Joseph was the the son of Fred and Mary (DeLoye) Voight.

Joseph William Voight was born at Mayville, Wisconsin, Dodge County on Feb. 16, 1891. He attended Catholic School at Waupun, Wisconsin and High School at Black Creek.
Mr. Voight was employed by the Bear Brand Hosiery Co. at Waupun several years previous to his service in the army beginning the 26th day of April 1918. During his service he was stationed at Camp Grant, at Rockford, Illinois where he made a First Lieutenant. Upon his discharge and a short vacation at home he returned to work for the Bear Brand Hosiery Co., in Kankakee, Ill., Feb. 1919.
In September 1924 he went to Phoenix, Arizona to recover his health. After spending some time in the St. Joseph's Hospital he was discharged and was married to Miss Georgialee Coffee of Phoenix. In April Mr. and Mrs. Voight came to Wisconsin and after a month visit Mr. Voight returned to work in Kankakee, Illinois.
In March 1928 his health again failed and they returned to Arizona. In September he became worse and again went to the hospital and his parents Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Voight were called to his bedside. However he removed to his home where he remained until his death, December 13, 1928.
Services were held in Phoenix at Trinity Episcopal Church under the auspices of the D. A. V. and then the body was brought to his home in Loyal accompanied by his wife and parents.
Mr. Voight is survived by his wife, his parents Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Voight, two sisters, Julia Voight of Plattville; Mrs. A. M. Leemon of Waupun, Wis., three brothers, Hal and Perry of Loyal and Harvey of South Bend, Indiana. The Tribune, with the many friends of the bereaved wish to express their heartfelt sympathy.
