Funeral services were held Thursday, 13 November 1947 in Morton forMrs. W.A. Key, 84, former Olney resident and mother of Mrs. W.H. Strealey ofOlney.Mrs. Key passed away Wednesday, 12 November 1947 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Homer Parsons in Portales, NM where she was temporarily making her home. She had been ill a week. Services held in the Morton Methodist church with the local pastor officiating, and burial was at the Morton cemetery. Survived by Mrs. Stealey and nine other children; 32 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. She was born in Alabama 5 January 1883. Attending the services from Olney were Mrs. Strealey who had been in Portales since her mother first became ill, and Mrs. Gene Evans, Mrs. Gerald Groves and Elmer Stealey, all grandchildren, Miss Genette Evans, a student at Texas Tech Lubbock, who is a great-granddaughter.
