Born in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Heyward Moss and Malissa Andrews Moss.
Marion graduated from Waco High School and the University of N.C. Women's College with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics. She worked for many years in the N.C. Public School System and was a Professional Nutritionist for the state of North Carolina. Marion was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kings Mountain. She loved to cook, sew, but most of all, she enjoyed being a wonderful Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and teaching children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bryce Moss; and son-in-law, Halford Adams.
Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Donald J. Elliott; daughter, Roxane Elliott Adams of Wilmington; grandchildren, Lt. Chadburn G. Adams and wife, Ann Marie, of Meridian, Miss., and Malissa Adams of Raleigh; and great-grandchildren, Shelby Adams, Walter Adams and Lucy Adams.
A very personal thank you to the staff at Hospice for the kind care given to Marion during her extended illness.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Thursday, March 19, 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home.
