Sylvia Northam Death Friday
Funeral Monday For Arlington Resident
Arlington resident Mrs. Sylvia Northam, 76, died at 9:15 p.m. Friday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Vivian) Ritter, near Greenfield. She had been in failing health for the past seven weeks, and seriously ill for the past eight days.
Mrs. Northam was born in Rush County on Nov. 8, 1887, the daughter of Orly and Amada (Pollitt) Brown. She married Charles Northam on Sept. 12, 1906, and had been an Arlington community resident for most of her life.
Other survivors besides her daughter include her husband, a son, Charles W. Northam of Portland, Ind., five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The deceased was a member of the Gwynneville Christian Church. Friends may call at the Carmony Funeral Home in Manilla after 1 p.m. Sunday, and funeral services will be held there at 2 p.m. on Monday, with the Rev. William Abrisch officiating.
Burial will be in the Little Blue River Wesleyan Methodist Cemetery.
