He and his brother, Frank, came to the Plymouth, Illinois area and were farmers for many years. He married Ada Vera Aleshire in December 1936 in Keokuk, Iowa. He then married Sarah (Dicus) Fairchild on June 28, 1961 in Columbus, Adams County, Illinois. She passed away on Nov. 11, 1991.
They were residents of Plymouth, Illinois for many years; after retirement they lived in the Rushville and Bowen, Illinois communities. He attended the Methodist Church.
Marion is survived by a step-son, Robert Fairchild of Macomb, and two step-daughters: Sarah Myers of Bowen and Nancy L. Bennett-Stelle of Manchester, Illinois. He enjoyed his six step-grandchildren and his step-great-grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
