Mr. Peterson operated one of the first electric streetcars in Rock Island while a resident here many years ago. He was a detective for the Rock Island Lines for 17 years until 1912 when he moved to St. Paul to become a detective for the Sioux Railroad. While a Rock Island resident, he also served as a member of the police department.
He was born in 1872 in Lynn Center, IL, a son of Charles and Anna Peterson and attended schools there. He moved to Rock Island when a young man. He was a veteran of the Spanish American War.
Survivors are three sisters, Mrs Herbert Samuelson, Moline, Mrs. Axel Anderson, Galesburg, Mrs. John Anderson, McPherson, KS and three brothers, E.A. Peterson, Rock Island, Martin eterson, Moline and Henry Peterson, Scotts Bluff, NE.
He was preceded in death his wife, parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 9 tomorrow morning in St. Paul. Burial will be in that city.
