Harry Morgan, 80, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at his home.
Harry was born in Vian, Oklahoma on July 10, 1928, the son of Harry Morgan Sr. and Velma (Moore) Morgan.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy from December 1945 until January 1947 and in the U.S. Army from November 1950 until August 1951.
Harry was united in marriage to Anita Sapan in Commerce, Oklahoma on June 11, 1948. She survives.
He had been a Chanute resident since 1959, moving to Petrolia in 1990.
He was a Truck Driver, starting with Manley Transfer in 1960.
Along with his wife Anita of Chanute, KS, he is survived by two sons, Mike Morgan and wife Linda of Belton, MO, and Eldon Morgan of Mobile, AL; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters; and two brothers.
Cremation will take place. Graveside inurnment will be held Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Chanute, KS.
Memorials in his name may be made to Chanute Animal Shelter and may be left with the funeral home.
