Bernice B. Shields, 74, of Wagoner passed away Wednesday, February 26, 1992 at a healh care facility in Wagoner. Mrs. Shields was born June 11, 1917 to Jim and Mary Louella (Fletcher)Dinnel in Hayes County, Nebraska. She grew up and received her education around Hamlet, Nebraska.
Bernice Dinnel married Henry Arthur Shields, December 12, 1936 in Minatare, Nebraska.
The couple lived in various places in Nebraska, Oregon & California. In the early 1980s they moved to their present home in Wagoner.
Mrs. Shields was a member of the Hillcrest Freewill Baptist Church, in Wagoner. She was a homemaker until her health began to fail her. She then started embroidery to keep her busy. She spent her lifetime raising and loving her family.
Services were held in Torrington, Wyoming, Monday, March 2, 1992 at the Coyler Chapel. Interment was held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Morrill, Nebraska. Arrangements were made by Shipman Funeral Home in Wagoner.
Mrs. Shields is survived by; her husband, "Hank" Shields of Wagoner; two sons; Larry Shields of Wisconsin and Don Shields of Grand Terrace, California; two daughters; Joana Pascoe of Wagoner and Eula Byers of Glendora, California; one sister, Peggy Anderson of Torrington, Wyoming; Eleven grandchildren, three of Wagoner; Bill and Becky Pascoe and Pam Shepherd and seven great-grandchildren.
