Gertrude was on the Pigeon Girls Basketball team that were the Basketball Champions of the Thumb in 1911. She also was one of the founders of the Pigeon Worth While Club better known as the "Pigeon Womans Club".

Children: Infant Female(1914), Don Henry(Sep 6, 1916), Onley Jane (Feb 13, 1918) & Charles Ray(Sep 3, 1919).
Gertrude and Charles traveled all over to car conventions, they had a home in Pigeon and also in Flordia. Gertrude graduated from the Detroit Foundation of Music and was a teacher at that institution up to the time of her illness. She taught violin and piano.
Survivors are her husband Charles and a son Don.
Preceding her in death were her children infant daughter(1914) daughter Onley Jane and son Charles Ray who both passed away from scarlet fever June 6 & 7, 1921.
